Colophon Announces FREE Upgrade to SmarterStats 7 for all Shared Web Hosting Customers

Colophon New Media is pleased to announce that we will be upgrading our web hosting customers to SmarterStats Version 7. Some of you may already see the new version when you login to your web stats. All accounts will be upgraded in the next few weeks. It's important to note that this upgrade will not affect your website, email, and/or database service(s) in any way.

The most noticable change is seen when you go to log in to SmarterStats. The order to enter login information is different.

You will…

1) enter your User Name first,

2) then the Password,

3) and last the Site ID.

The new site tuning functionality in SmarterStats 7 scans your site for more than 20 different problems known to affect a site's search engine ranking, such as broken links, excessive linking, META and title tags, and multiple redirects.

SmarterStats 7 improves the user experience when accessing the web interface from any tablet computer or smartphone. Page speed is significantly increased and all features of SmartStats are fully compatible with touch screens so users can view stats from anywhere on an Apple, Android, or Windows mobile device.

SmarterStats 7 adds several new report items including a bounce rate report that identifies how frequently visitors land on your site and immediately leave without viewing additional pages and a report that identifies the most popular entry and exit pages of your website.

SmarterStats excels at creating visuals to show traffic flow on your website. It also differentiates between automated searches (spiders and bots) and actual surfers visiting your site. This feature makes it possible to see the effectiveness of your website clearly.

SmarterStats has also reworked its user agent detection to provide users with a clearer understanding of the browsers, devices or operating systems visitors are using to surf your site.

In addition, SmarterStats breaks down visitors into a geographic analysis with a colored coded map showing where your visitors are located. Administrators can use this data to market information to your strong areas or plan a drive to drum up new business.

The new SmarterStats 7.0 allows the administrator to set a maintenance schedule. Deletions, logging and purging of files and analytical data can all be scheduled saving you time for more importation things.
