Cold Hardy Palms is a Charleston, SC area provider of high-quality palm trees & bamboo, operating since 2007.

 The Challenge

The previous ColdHardyPalms.net website was due for an upgrade. Their team wanted to preserve the spirit of their history via their legacy website but updated with a more modern aesthetic and new content for their customers.

 The Process

Colophon used their three phase web development process:

In Phase I, the website was reimagined based on the Cold Hardy Palms team’s vision with a central understanding of the desired audience and requirements for offered services.

In Phase II, the website design was made functional: programmed with HTML, CSS, and PHP, and the content management system (CMS) was installed and configured on the back-end. Additionally, the Cold Hardy Palms Instagram feed was installed using Smash Balloon, a dynamic, premium WordPress plug-in, to provide customers with a real-time look into what’s new with the company’s projects.

In Phase III, content was installed and optimized to the website. The team stayed highly organized as pictures & content from new projects came in to ensure the website was as updated as possible.

 The Solution

Colophon created the new ColdHardyPalms.net – a clean, optimized, custom WordPress theme built specifically for the customer – via the entire design and programming process.

This included installing custom forms for quoting to provide the Cold Hardy Palms team with as much relevant information about their lead as possible at the first point of contact.

The website is hosted on low-tenant, fast, and secure, WordPress optimized servers, ensuring website loading and traffic is optimal for Cold Hardy Palms’ customers.
