 The Company

Pharmechanics, founded in 2017 buy Dr. Sam Hoare, is a pharmacology consultancy supporting pharmaceutical, biotech, and academic clients in drug discovery and research. A seasoned pharmacologist with a proven track record in developing FDA-approved drugs, Dr. Hoare utilizes his experience and expertise to provide services in all sorts of data analysis to help all pharmaceutical companies, small and large, solve their hardest problems. He also provides dozens of high-value resources for free on his website and YouTube channel.

 The Challenge

Despite the high-quality of its offerings, including dozens of free resources, Pharmechanics’ online presence was limited to a Wix website that didn’t meet the professional expectations of its intended audience. While highly informational, the old website fell short in showcasing Dr. Hoare’s deep expertise and the full spectrum of services available in an attractive, optimized manner, leading to potentially missed opportunities for engagement and growth for a new audience.

 The Process

To solve this challenge, Pharmechanics needed a custom WordPress theme to stand out from the crowd, optimized for SEO and for actually digesting the complex information across the website. While Software-as-a-Service website companies like Wix and SquareSpace can be quite effective for small businesses or hobbyists looking to quickly get a simple landing page launched, they fall short in customization, performance, and overall customer service, as you are typically at the mercy of a corporate ticketing system. For a truly dynamic website that can grow with you as your business grows while giving you all the editable functionality you need, a custom-coded (i.e., no page builders) WordPress theme with dynamic content is the only solution worth pursuing in 2025. Even in the age of artificial intelligence, AI website-builders lack optimization and cannot yet out-skill actual web developers in terms of streamlining code.

We worked together with Dr. Hoare to align on content and a new structure for the website. From there, we followed our Three-Phase Development Process to Design > Build > Optimize & Launch!

 The Solution

Recognizing the need for a professional and authoritative online presence, we partnered with Pharmechanics to develop a new website that would:​

• Not only provide, but showcase all the free resources and tools for clients and researchers, including the Pharmechanics YouTube channel which has a dedicated following of several hundred subscribers.

• Implement SEO best practices across the website structure, aligned with an optimal hosting performance profile, to improve visibility and attract qualified leads.​

The new website features a clean, modern design with intuitive navigation, allowing visitors to easily explore services and access valuable resources. We emphasized Dr. Hoare’s credentials and contributions to the field, including his role in developing FDA-approved therapeutics and his published research on GPCR signaling kinetics.

The new website not only reflects the high standards of Pharmechanics’ services but also serves as a valuable platform for sharing knowledge and resources with the broader scientific community.
